Grampanchayat Department
Introduction
Gram Panchayat Department is an important department of the District Council. This Department control over all the Gram Panchayats in the District. All government schemes of Centre and state are implemented through Gram Panchayat at rural places.
Functions of Gram Panchayat Department
- To have complete control over all the Gram Panchayats of the District and and a mediator between the block development office and Zillah parishad.
- Village panchayat Implement all central government schemes, State government programmed and also all other program funded by any organization.
- Distributing honorarium to Sarpanch, Deputy Sarpanach, grampancyat members and Gram Panchayat employees, Also distribution of all land revenue grant, stamp duty grant. And also other government grants.
- Recruitment of Extension Officer (P), Grampanchayat officers and other clerical and non-clerical staff, and also maintains all their records and provide all the benefits to the employees during their service and at Retirement Stage maintain the establishment of cadre.

- Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Gram Panchayat). Is a Class I officer from MDS cadre is an in charge of Grampanchayat department.
- Under them Class-II Assistant Block Development Officer is appointed who help Dy chief Executive officer (vp)
Vision and objectives
Clean rural areas and maintains hygiene for all round development .The main objectives of the department is to run various initiatives to create beautiful and green villages, to run initiatives to eradicate poverty among the villagers through the Maharashtra State Rural Life Promotion Campaign, to provide preventive and preventive related facilities under various types of household schemes, to strengthen the Panchayat Raj system through training and empowerment of public representatives under the Development Programme.

- Implementation of various government schemes through Gram Panchayats.
- To maintain control over all Gram Panchayat.
- Head To distribute honorarium to members and Gram Panchayat employees.
Gram Panchayat Department’s work
- Construction of village roads,
- Maintainace of village roads,
- Providing street light service and maintaining it
- Registration of Birth records of deaths and marriages, and issuing the certificates at villages
- maintaining public hygiene in all the villages
- Maintaining the all records and providing all the reports to Government
- Supply pure drinking water to all villages and collection of taxes.
- Providing services which improve the standard of living of villagers
- To work under the guidance of CEO and Government.
- Providing health of rural people. Giving advice regarding agriculture, rural development, education etc.
