Introduction
Women and Child Welfare Department is a department of Sangli District Council. Women and Child Welfare Committee has been established in the District Council to implement various programs and schemes related to the development of women and child welfare (the present Administrator and the Chief Executive Officer have all the rights. Through the Sadar Department, District Program Officer, Deputy Chief Executive Officer (DOC) and the Chairman of the Women and Child Welfare Committee, as per the government decision, training and empowerment schemes as well as individual schemes for women and girls are implemented in the District Council with 10 percent funding and government grants to empower women and girls.

The government has decided to efficiently implement various programs and schemes through the Women and Child Development Department with the help of 10 percent cess generated by the Zilla Parishad. Guidance is given through programs and plans. Training schools are organized to increase self-confidence among women and girls and to give them information about provisions related to various laws. The limit of expenditure for this is decided by the Women and Child Development Committee. This is the main objective of the department.
