Education Department (Scheme): State Govt. Merit Scholarship Scheme for students of General students belonging to Economically Weaker Students
Objective and Scope of the Scheme:
This scholarship is intended to ensure that the financially intelligent children who have passed the secondary examination with high marks are not deprived of higher education. The scholarship continues to the 12th grade for students who pass class 11th with at least 50% marks in the first attempt. This scholarship is available only for junior college level and is launched through the DBT portal.
Scholarship Packages and Rates:
3200 scholarships have been approved as per School Education Department Government Decision No. MCH/85/95/Mashi-8 dated 105/10/16.
The scholarship rates differ for hostel and non-hostel students. It is applicable for students in Std 11th and Std 12th (total sanctioned sets for each year: 3200).

Eligibility Criteria:
- Must secure at least 50% marks in Secondary School Examination.
- The scholarship continues in class 12th if at least 50% marks are secured in the first attempt in the examination conducted at the end of the first year of junior college (11th class).
- Students must apply through the DBT portal within the prescribed time frame.
- The annual income limit of parents for fee concession under the EBC scheme has been increased to ₹1,00,000/-.
